Helping you implement innovative solutions
Contract management is the management of contracts made with customers, vendors, partners, or employees. The personnel involved in contract administration required to negotiate, support and manage active contracts are often expensive to train and retain.
Supply-chain management, techniques with the aim of coordinating all parts of SC from supplying raw materials to delivering and/or resumption of products, tries to minimize total costs with respect to existing conflicts among the chain partners.

The best of the best is here
SENIOR MANAGING CONSULTANT
We reinvest company profits into the creation of social value in the communities in which we live and work. Barkers is proud to have won the SME Leadership award at the 2021 National Social Value Awards, the 2018 CIPS award for ‘Best Contribution to the Reputation of the Profession’ and the 2019 Business in The Community (BiTC) award for ‘Connecting Places’.
At Barkers procurement consultancy we aim to delivery £2m in social value every year based on our pro bono advisory work to the charity sector and the value created by our own Social Enterprise LifeScape. In 2018 we created LifeScape to create jobs for traditionally excluded groups and the long term unemployed. Whilst the capital investment in depots, vans, buildings and equipment has been significant, the investment of time from Barkers staff has been massive. The senior management team have personally dedicated many 100s of days into the development of LifeScape. Helping those less fortunate is a passion for our business and we believe it shines through in the business ethics we bring to our procurement and commercial services.
By leading on a moral and social conscious basis we attract the very best people to our organisation, and they stay because they see the difference we are making every day in the profits we give back to society.
At Barkers, put simply, we have the most talented team professionally qualified to the highest level. We consistently lead the development of standards in the institutions that we support e.g. Our Director Marc is Chairman of CIPS Global Congress and David is a member of the Trustee Board.
At Barkers our team are Chartered MCIPS, FCIPS or equivalently qualified with relevant Honours Degrees, MBAs and PhDs based on research completed in areas relevant to the advancement of procurement and commercial best practice.
All our senior delivery resources come from a background of industry leadership with hands on experience of leading and developing large international procurement and commercial teams. Our advice is based on years of hard-earned practical experience versus management theory and unrealistic timescales.
We commit to delivering the benefits we identify, and we do so in collaboration with your team, helping them to take the next steps on their own.
All of our clients provide testimonials and are happy to take reference calls to share their experience of working with Barkers. We pride ourselves on delivering lasting improvements and tangible results and our client case studies validate the facts.
“Warren and his colleagues at Barkers are trusted to always do the right thing…I cannot recommend them highly enough and they would be my business consultants of choice every time.”

Our track record speaks for itself
The Barkers team brought an in depth knowledge of the market along with a highly collaborative and flexible working style. They shared their knowledge freely and constantly kept us up to date as the project progressed. I’d highly recommend Barkers when dealing with complex commercial change and regulated procurement processes.– LISA CHARLES Director of Business Services, Bolton at Home
When we engaged with Barkers we realised it would be a really inclusive approach, so rather than being done to our people it would be done with them, and therefore the chance of success was much greater. The feedback was compelling in how well Barkers helped the team and now they feel like they own it…that is very different to anything else we’ve seen.– Alan Hartley Head of Procurement and Supply Chain, Sellafield
